FAQ's
- Q: What do I do to shower?
A: Most
incisions need nothing in particular in terms of care. No ointments, no special
washing or dressing need to be applied. You do need to keep the wound dry and
clean. Showering is best with water running over the incision indirectly. No
rubbing or manipulating the incision is recommended.

- Q: When can I drive?
A: Most
patients who have undergone lumbar procedures can begin to drive within 2 to 3
weeks. The primary concern is if the back feels comfortable enough to sit
without developing spasms. The other concern is narcotics. Obviously, one is
not allowed to operate any machinery when taking narcotics or muscle
relaxants.
